I build things. Some of them work.

Things I do:

Create things that didn't exist before that are both interesting and have value.
Drink coffee in the morning.
Build solutions for big problems.

I’m now building Storyline and Primordial AI with an awesome team of creative scientists and builders around the world.

Some things I've done:

Went to grade school in England. It was basically Hogwarts without Dumbledore. (Yes, Snape was there.)
Read approximately 14,000 books between the ages of 8 and 22.
Backpacked a 40 pound raft up to Henrys Fork Lake (at the base of Kings Peak). Blew across the lake in about 3 minutes. Packed it out.
Moved 11 times in 7 years.
Lived in St.Albans (England), SLC, Logan, Boston, Manhattan, Heber, and Park City.
Rollerbladed the Central Park Loop a few hundred times. Ran the Central Park Reservoir a few hundred times more. Ran the NYC Marathon dressed as a Single Straight Male.
Was part of the first high school team that built and flew an experiment in space. (Space Shuttle Challenger STS 41-B) Yes, I have things that I made that have flown in space.
Saw guns pulled in NYC 5 times in anger. Made 1 citizens arrest (felony aggravated assault).
Beat Donald Trump at beach volley ball (twice) on a Long Island during a fundraiser.
Trained a few hundred dogs during college.
Made a friend of a leopard seal 70 feet upside down in the Sea of Cortez.
Practiced Shorinji Kempo for 7 years and was amazingly flexible at one time.
Had dinner with 600 women dressed as Scarlet O'Hara.
Spent countless hours roaming the Met. I’m unable to get lost in there any more.
Saved some polar bears and arctic foxes after the fall of the Soviet Union.
I once built a house in Heber, Utah, that had 106 windows fold-away walls. It was amazing when it rained.
Finished a Masters Degree (MBC) at the University of Utah.
Built Storyline to understand human behavior and make that knowledge useful for everyone.
Created Uncharted Health for cancer patients.

Short Bio

Born Logan. Schooled in England. High school, back in Utah again. Majored in Art after pre-Med at USU. Two years Boston. Ten years Manhattan. 15 years in Park City. 4 in Heber. Now (mostly) in SL and PC.

For ten years I was a painter in Manhattan. I spent my time painting for clients that included New York City Opera, Ballentine, Coca-Cola, yada-yada-yada times 30. And since, through numerous misadventures, I garner myself at least a little of a reputation. I was commissioned to paint portraits of Princess Diana for the Diana memorial trust as well as Vivien Leigh for the 60th anniversary of the release of Gone With The Wind.

I’ve been fortunate to have a few activities I’ve found interesting. Managing Director of the Russian-American Society for the Protection of Animals (An international non-profit 501c charity) based in New York City that gave me the opportunity to help save some polar bears and arctic foxes. (There's a Polar Bear named Jeff Barson out there that speaks Russian.) I scared a whole lot of university students as I bounced around teaching, lecturing and tearing up their work. After retiring to Park City (a few East Coast summers of 98 degrees and 98% humidity will do that to you) I put my art career on hold and changed direction.

I started Surface Medical, a chain of cosmetic medical clinics that grew to seven clinics in four states in about 28 months.

I’ve been the founder or early team member in a number of technology startups (Sendside, HireVue, TruClinic, Pebble, Storyline), and formed an angel group in Park City (since superseded by Park City Angels). For five years I was Head Honcho of HireVue Labs, the R&D startup arm of HireVue where we built some cool things.

I once built a house in Heber, Utah, that had 106 windows fold-away walls. It was amazing when it rained.

I have a MBC Degree (Masters of Business Creation) at the University of Utah. Slightly pretentious title I know but yes, I am a Master of Creation.

Now, I’m now building Storyline and Primordial AI with an awesome team of creative builders and scientists around the world.

We’re also working on Uncharted (a cancer patient masterclass), DepoIQ, and a long list of incredibly important projects.

If you read this far you're probably my mom. I love you.
